I'm back safe and sound in muggy South Florida. Christmas vacation was therapeutic as I ate and drank a lot. I felt a bit guilty doing it but I probably needed it! The weather was refreshingly cool and invigorating. Went for a few walks outside and the wind was cold a couple of times. Once on Christmas Day and then in St. Albert. I went with Mom out there and walked along Sturgeon River and in St. Albert Place while she got her hair done. It was a trip down memory lane as I hadn't been in the public library in over ten years! I stayed over at Darcy's parent's place twice for the first time. I didn't manage to play one complete chess game with Darcy's Dad because I take too long to move pieces. Keith found time to stay over one night so it was good to see him. Also had time to squeeze in visiting with Ed and Lori and their two kids. That reminds me - I need to email him with the contact information for NAIT's photography program.

Dad and I drove out to Thorsby to see the Chevelle. Poor old Bessie's interior was somewhat ravaged by field mice. They had borrowed a hold in the back seat and took out stuffing to make nests. The body looked okay but we couldn't get it started due to no battery. I made the tough decision not to fix up the car for the wedding and instead sell it. If I had a lot of money I'd do it but the bit of money I have saved and from Grandma Shires's inheritance needs to be spent on our immediate future (moving, education, overseas trip). So I need to figure out the logistics of selling it - price is not much more than $2,500.

We visited our lay chaplain at Tim Hortons and dropped into the Special Events Rentals place. But ideally I had wanted to get more wedding plans finalized. There are things we can accomplish via the telephone and email. More about this on our wedding blog. Last big news is we signed a year lease at the Atriums of Plantation apartment! We're excited and must gear up for the big move in three weeks. I've reflected on the devastating tsunami and my trip to Thailand in 2002...
